A new season is now upon us, one that I normally associate with new beginnings, more so than the spring.
After all, this is the time when students have just made it back to their desks, hopeful to make a fresh start and excel in the school year. Moreover the weather is cooler, which aids in concentration. In time the leaves will turn and display their fall colors (on that note, I promise to post a picture on this blog of the gorgeous foliage we get here in New Hampshire).
Hopefully all of you are looking forward to better things in the coming months. One of the revelations I got from the IRI Annual Conference, which was held virtually and concluded earlier this week, was how many of the attendees were still working from home. While I’m sure you don’t mind crossing the living room to start the workday, I’m sure many of you want to get back to the office to connect with your colleagues. I hope that happens for you soon.
As for me, I plan to use this time to take stock of how Soleares Research is doing and see how I can better serve my current subscribers and the industry. My aim has been each year to make incremental improvements to the research and reports. I see multiple things I can do to keep that process going.
I think that there is so much complexity to our business, and compelling topics to cover in it, that I have to guard myself against putting too much on my to-do list. That said, I aspire to make timely and informative additions to my firm’s offerings. Any suggestions and thoughts from the readership on this front will, as always, be appreciated.
In closing, I hope you all have a productive autumn!
