Twenty Years On

featured-image

I started sketching this post well ahead of time because it’s a special one. Normally I try to dash my postings off as casually as possible, such that they have an unfiltered, conversational quality. Hopefully I will pull off that kind of mood in this one, despite my advance preparation.

As I start this, I am taking a moment to consider how it’s been twenty years since I launched Soleares Research LLC, and I am gratified to still be around. Maybe I haven’t “shot the lights out” in this industry, but I can claim a degree of consistency, don’t you think? That, and each year I’ve tried to make the reports and research a bit better. Would you believe the website has undergone three iterations? Will I make a Version 4.0? I’m not sure yet.

In the picture is a gift I received from my parents for my company’s 10th anniversary (see the earlier post, “Ten Years After”), a music box that plays discs of great popular music of the past (actually much of them Christmas favorites). Which one should I pick? I will settle on “As Time Goes By.” That seems appropriate.

I had the thought of sending all my subscribers some sort of 20th anniversary gift. I may still do that but am puzzled as to what you all would like and what would be somehow unique. In the interim I will reach out to you in various ways. You never know: I may come up with a cool tchotchke to send you in the future; given my current leisurely pace, it may not arrive until late in the year or early next. So please bear with me.

At present I am brainstorming ways to improve and refine Soleares’ offerings. Any major changes or upgrades probably won’t take place until next year.

In closing, many thanks for your support over the years!
